Types of Laser Skin Resurfacing

IPL
Cosmetic laser procedures have advanced tremendously in the last couple of decades. Laser treatments can address just about any type of medical or aesthetic issue that a person may have. More and more cosmetic surgeons are using lasers to address damage to the skin caused by the sun and a number of other issues.
One type of laser that is used to treat damage to the skin caused by the sun is called an IPL or intense photo light laser. Most people who have this treatment have it performed on the face and hands to eliminate what is called sun spots, liver spots or simply put age spots. IPL is much safer than some of the other resurfacing lasers or lasers that are used to eliminate hair on the face, birth marks and even tattoos. But let's stay focused on the skin resurfacing.
Skin resurfacing not only can eliminate age spots, but it can help to get rid of fine lines, spider veins, pigmentation issues, drastically minimize deep lines and acne scarring. Broad spectrum light is much easier on the skin and the burning and blistering risk is greatly minimized. This risk is so much less in fact that IPL works great for people how are experiencing redness and rosacea.
And an added bonus to this type of laser treatment is that people who have had it see a significant decrease in the size of their pores as well as discovering that their skin is much smoother. And the benefits just keep on going… IPL motivates the skin to generate additional collagen, filling in the skin, assisting it to look much younger. You many need to have more than one treatment with this laser, it is typically recommended that you have between 4 to 6 treatments to obtain optimal results. You will not notice significant results after just one treatment. But this can be a good thing if you don't want anyone to know that you are having this laser treatment performed.
And that is the very reason that IPL is so popular with the guys, most men absolutely do not want their buddies or anyone else for that matter to know that they are having facial rejuvenation performed. There is very little if any downtime, you be able to go back to whatever you were doing before your treatment as soon as you're done.
IPL also works great on people who have dark skin tones because it doesn't create a lot of pigment loss during the procedure, unlike some of the other lasers on the market today. The deeper the penetration of the laser light beam, the more you will get out of the treatment, but there is a greater risk of burning the deeper the laser light goes. Some risks include a pink tinge left on the face and there is a chance of pigment loss if you've had a deeper IPL procedure. You will be given skin care instructions following your treatment and you will need to use a sunscreen with a UV of 15 or more.
